The Bar Council of India has opened the online registration window for the 21st edition of the AIBE. Candidates planning to practice law in Indian courts must clear this offline, pen-and-paper exam.
Application Start Date: February 11, 2026
Application Deadline: April 30, 2026
Last Date for Online Fee Payment: May 01, 2026
Form Correction Window: Up to May 03, 2026
Admit Card Release: May 22, 2026

Before applying, ensure you meet the BCI's eligibility requirements:

| Education | 3-year or 5-year LLB degree from a BCI-recognized university. (Final year/final semester students with no active backlogs are also eligible to apply). |
| Bar Council Enrollment | Candidates already enrolled with a State Bar Council can apply. (Note: You can now also register without an enrollment certificate, but you must submit it later to get your CoP). |
| Age Limit | No upper or lower age limit to appear for the exam. |
| Application Fee | ₹3,500 (General/OBC); ₹2,500 (SC/ST). Plus applicable bank charges. |
Mode: Offline (OMR-based)
Format: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
Nature: Open-book exam (Only Bare Acts without notes or comments are allowed inside the center).
Passing Criteria: 45% for General/OBC and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. There is no negative marking.
